What is cleaning company website design, and what does it cost?

Cleaning company website design is a site built around the searches cleaning customers actually make, with a page per service and per town, and it costs from £1,495 one-off, then £50 a month.

This page does not try to impress you with pictures of websites. It tells you what the site will do: rank for "cleaners [your town]", capture the enquiry with four fields, hand the booking to the software you already run, and show a facilities manager your CHAS certificate before she asks for it. The eleven customer searches on the home page add up to more than 90,000 a month in the UK at £2 to £10 a click, and that is the demand a cleaning company website is built for. Cleaning has no licence and no regulator, so everything a customer uses to decide whether to trust you, the accreditations, the insurance, the DBS policy and the reviews, has to be on the page where they can see it.

What is on a cleaning company website that works

A page per town, built on numbers

Hackney has 754 claimed cleaning listings within 5km and a click costs £7.52. Maldon has 16 and a click costs 95p. Those are different pages with different arguments, and we write both from the data rather than swapping the town name.

The quote form in the hero

Name, business, phone, email. Nothing else visible. Most people never finish a long form, so we capture the lead first and ask about the job on the next page, where every field is optional.

Booking that matches how you work

If you run ZenMaid, ProCleanerUK, CleanFlo, Jobber or Squeegee, their booking form sits on the page so a booking lands in the diary you already keep. If you take bookings by email, WhatsApp and phone, which most cleaning companies under ten staff do, the site gives you a request-a-slot form that emails you the details instead. Nobody needs to buy software to have a website.

An accreditations page for buyers

BICSc, CHAS or SafeContractor, ISO 9001, DBS policy, COSHH training, insurance levels. Named, dated, and written the way a tender questionnaire asks for them.

Prices on the page

A from-price filters out enquiries that were never going to book and signals that you are organised. Every cleaning company ranking on page one for those customer searches shows a number. So should you.

A recruitment page

The British Cleaning Council's 2026 report names recruitment as the industry's biggest problem. A careers page that says what you pay and how shifts work is a marketing page for staff.

What we deliberately leave out

No stock photography. A photograph of a stranger in yellow gloves appears on hundreds of cleaning sites and tells a customer nothing. We will tell you exactly what to photograph on your phone.

No review schema about ourselves or about you. The legitimate route to stars in search results is Google Business Profile reviews, and we set you up to earn them.

No "best cleaning company in [town]" listicles ranking you first. They are a known tactic and a known embarrassment.

No pay-monthly ownership trap. You own the site and the domain from the day it goes live, and if you leave the £50 care plan you take both with you.

How a cleaning company website gets built here

  1. Tell us what you clean and where

Four details in the form, then a short written brief. No discovery call unless you want one. Most clients answer twelve questions by WhatsApp.

  2. We write the pages from your numbers

Services, areas, accreditations and prices. We pull the search and cost figures for your towns so every page argues from real data.

  3. You see it working before you pay the balance

A private link, on your phone. Two rounds of changes are included. The quote form, WhatsApp button and Google Business Profile advice are all in place.

  4. Live from two weeks, then the care plan

We connect your domain and email. £50 a month covers hosting, updates and one small change a month. Rolling, 30 days notice, no exit fee.

Questions cleaning companies ask before they buy a website

How do I build a website for my cleaning business?

Three routes. A builder such as Wix or Squarespace at £10 to £30 a month if you are a sole trader with a full round already. A template seller at £150 to £250 if you need something live this week. Or a specialist build from £1,495 if you want pages for each service and each town, a quote form that captures the lead before it asks questions, and the search and cost numbers for your area on the page. The first two are fine until you hire. The third is what fills a diary.

How to find clients for your cleaning company?

In this order: a verified Google Business Profile with photos and reviews, a website with one page per service and one per town, then referrals from the customers those two bring in. Paid ads work but cost £2.76 a click on "cleaners near me" and £9.70 on "office cleaning london" (Google Ads UK, read 12 September 2026). A page that ranks gets the same visit for nothing.

What is a catchy name for a cleaning company?

The one nobody else in your county is using. Before you fall for a name, check Companies House for it, check the .co.uk and .com, and search Google Maps for it within twenty miles. Six different "Clean Sweep" companies are on the register. Our naming guide walks through the checks; it does not hand you a list.

What does a clean website look like?

For a cleaning company it looks like this: what you clean, where you clean it, what it costs and how to book, all visible without scrolling on a phone. White space, one typeface, photographs of your own team and your own work, and no stock picture of a woman in yellow gloves that a hundred other sites use.

What is the 3 second rule in website design?

A visitor decides within about three seconds whether the page is for them. On a cleaning site that means the town, the service and the price need to be in the first screen, and the quote form needs to be beside them, not three pages away.

What are the 5 elements to a good website design?

For this trade: a headline that names the service and the area, a quote form in the hero, proof (reviews, accreditations, before-and-after photos you took yourself), a price or a from-price, and a page for every town you cover. Everything else is decoration.

How long does a cleaning company website take to build?

Two to three weeks for Starter, three to four for Team, four to six for Contract, from the day the twelve brief questions come back. Most agencies quote four to eight weeks for a site this size; we are quicker because there is no platform to configure and no discovery workshop to sit through.

Will I be able to update the website myself?

Text and price changes come through us on the £50 care plan, usually the same day. There is no WordPress login because there is no WordPress; if you want the files to edit yourself, we hand them over.

Do you build on WordPress or Wix?

Neither. Plain HTML on Netlify: nothing to patch, nothing to hack, fast on a phone on a doorstep. The trade-off is that you make changes through us rather than a dashboard, which most cleaning company owners prefer.

Can you redesign my existing cleaning website?

Yes, and we keep the URLs that already rank, redirect the ones that change, and rebuild the rest from your towns' numbers. Send the address with the quote form and we will say which pages are worth keeping.
