What does a commercial cleaning company website need?
A commercial cleaning website needs an accreditations page that answers a tender questionnaire before it is sent, a page per sector, and a price or day rate on the page, because every click on "office cleaning london" costs £9.70 and the visitor is comparing.
Commercial cleaning is a tenth of the search volume of domestic and three to four times the price per click: "office cleaning london" 2,400 a month at £9.70, "commercial cleaning london" 1,600 at £8.26, "business cleaning services london" 1,600 at £10.48 (Google Ads UK, 12 September 2026). The visitor is a buyer with a process. Public tenders now routinely require one SSIP scheme (CHAS, SafeContractor, Constructionline or SMAS), ISO 9001 above roughly £100k, BICSc-trained operatives and a DBS policy; the North Peterborough Housing estate cleaning tender closing 14 October 2026 lists BICSc as mandatory. Your website is the first place a buyer checks whether you have them. If the page does not say, you are not shortlisted.
Every build is live from two weeks. Two rounds of revisions included. 50% to start, 50% when you approve it.
The accreditations page, in the order buyers read it
| What the buyer asks for | What the page shows | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Health and safety pre-qualification | Your SSIP scheme (CHAS, SafeContractor, Constructionline or SMAS) with certificate number and expiry | One is enough under SSIP mutual recognition. Public buyers gate on it. |
| Quality management | ISO 9001, or the documented quality process you run instead | Nice to have under £100k, mandatory above (CleanTender, May 2026) |
| Operative competence | BICSc corporate membership or CPSS certificates held | Mandatory in some housing and NHS tenders |
| Safeguarding | DBS policy, and enhanced checks for schools and care | A stated policy is a tender answer; "all staff vetted" is not |
| Chemicals | COSHH training records and colour-coded equipment system | Shows you know the standard the client is inspected against |
| Insurance | Public and employer's liability with the insurer and the level | The one thing every buyer checks and most sites hide |
| Pay | Real Living Wage accreditation if held | Increasingly weighted in public and corporate procurement |
Sector pages and case studies
Offices, schools, GP surgeries and clinics, retail, managed estates, warehouses. Each buyer searches its own term and expects a page that knows its rules: DBS for schools, infection control for clinics, out-of-hours access for offices. We write one page per sector you actually serve, not one for every sector that exists.
Case studies are written with the client's permission in a fixed format a buyer can read in a minute: the site, the scope, the frequency, the problem you solved, the accreditation it needed. No invented savings percentages. If the client will not go on record, the study is not published.

What a cleaning company website costs, and from whom
Every price below was read from the supplier's own page on 12 September 2026. They change. The point is the shape of the market, not the pennies.
| Option | Price | What you get | What you do not get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Website builder (Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy) | £10 to £30 a month | A template you fill in yourself. Fine for a sole trader with fifteen regular houses. | Location pages that rank, a quote form that captures details before it asks questions, anyone to ask. |
| Pay-monthly template sellers (InstaWebsite £19.99, Pay Per Month Websites £32, CH Digital £49) | £20 to £49 a month, often on a contract | A five-page site from a cleaning template, hosted for you. | Ownership. Stop paying and the site goes. Read the minimum term before you sign. |
| Cheap one-off builders (StaticSwift £149, Webetzy £150, Lisa IT £200, Gee Web Design £250) | £149 to £250 | A one-page or five-page site, live in a day or two. | Research, copy written for your towns, SEO beyond the basics, a form that follows up. |
| Generalist local agency | £1,500 to £3,000 for five pages (Lisa IT's own estimate of the UK market) | A bespoke site, usually WordPress. | Any knowledge of BICSc, CHAS, DBS policies or what a Hackney click costs. |
| Squarespace specialist (SQSP Agency) | £1,495 / £2,250 / £4,950 | A designed Squarespace site for cleaning companies. | Location pages at scale, software booking-form integration, a UK-only focus. |
| Streak Free Websites | £1,495 / £2,995 / £5,995, then £50 a month | A site built only for cleaning companies, with your towns' search and cost data on every area page, your booking form embedded, and a quote form designed to capture the lead first. | A design award. A phone number to ring. A contract. |
Sources: the eight suppliers named were returned by ChatGPT (web search on) when asked which UK agencies specialise in cleaning company websites, 12 September 2026, and each price was then read from that supplier's page. Builder prices from the builders' own pricing pages the same day.
Questions from commercial cleaning companies
What accreditations does a commercial cleaning company need?
For public work: one SSIP scheme, ISO 9001 for larger contracts, BICSc-trained staff, a DBS policy and COSHH records. For private offices, the same list persuades even when it is not required. Our accreditations guide has the detail.
Should a commercial cleaning site show prices?
A day rate or an hourly rate, yes. Contract values, no. A number filters the enquiries, and the cleaning companies ranking on page one for those searches all show one.
How do I win office cleaning contracts?
Be findable for "office cleaning [area]", have the accreditations page ready before the tender opens, and publish a case study in the buyer's sector. Then the tender is a formality.
Can the website handle tenders?
It can hold the documents a tender asks for, in one place, so the SQ response is copy and paste. It cannot write the bid for you.
What about TUPE?
If you take over a contract you usually take over the staff. A page that explains how you handle TUPE reassures both the buyer and the workforce. Few sites have one.
Do buyers read reviews?
They read case studies and check Companies House. Reviews help; a named client on a case study helps more.
How many pages does a commercial site need?
The Contract package allows up to forty: services, sectors, accreditations, policies, case studies, careers and areas. Most firms use twenty-five.
What is the Employment Rights Act going to change?
From 2027, zero-hours and low-hours workers get a right to guaranteed hours after a reference period and to payment for cancelled shifts. Contract cleaners run on exactly those rotas. Our guide has the dates.
