What is cleaning business software, and which one should you use?

A UK domestic cleaner with a small team is usually best served by ProCleanerUK (£49.99 a month for up to five staff) or CleanFlo (£19.99 flat); a residential firm with many cleaners by ZenMaid; a window cleaner by Squeegee; a commercial contractor by Swept; and a mixed field service business by Jobber.

That is a recommendation from a web design company, so read the table and decide for yourself. What we know from building the sites is which forms embed cleanly (all of these) and which cleaning companies outgrow which tool (email and a spreadsheet stop working at the second cleaner, the flat-rate UK tools at about twenty staff). Prices below are as published on the vendors' pages or as reported by esremedia's June and July 2026 comparisons, read 12 September 2026. They change.

    How to choose

Count your cleaners in a year's time, not today. Decide whether you need customers to book a slot online (ZenMaid, BookingKoala, ProCleanerUK) or to request a quote (everything else works). Check the vendor charges in pounds if you want a predictable bill; the American tools bill in dollars. Then take the fourteen-day trial and try to double-book yourself; the good ones will not let you.

    Putting it on the website

Every tool in the table with a form can be embedded on your site so a booking lands in your diary without re-typing. It is included in our Team and Contract packages and it is the single most under-used feature in cleaning web design; most sites link out to the vendor or have no booking at all. Our online booking page explains the embed.

    Sources and method

Search volumes and cost-per-click figures are Google Ads UK data pulled through DataForSEO on the date shown. Business counts are claimed Google listings in six cleaning categories within a five kilometre radius of the town centre. Prices are read from the supplier's own page on the date shown. Where a figure cannot be sourced, it is not published.

Questions Google shows under this search

What is the best software for a cleaning business?

For a UK domestic cleaning company under fifteen staff, ProCleanerUK (£49.99 a month) or CleanFlo (£19.99 flat) because they bill in pounds and cap by team size. For recurring residential rounds at scale, ZenMaid. For window cleaning rounds, Squeegee. For commercial contracts across multiple sites, Swept. For a mixed field service business, Jobber. There is no single best; there is a best for your size and your trade, which is what the table above is for.

Is there any free software for cleaning businesses?

Free tiers exist but they are trials or heavily limited. Google Calendar, a spreadsheet and WhatsApp cost nothing and work until the second cleaner, which is genuinely the right answer for a sole trader. Paying starts to make sense the first time you double-book someone or lose an invoice.

How much is a 1 hour clean?

Google shows this question on the software search because it mixes business owners with customers. We are a web design company, not a cleaning company, so the honest answer is that your three nearest competitors publish theirs and you should publish yours. A from-price on your own website filters out the enquiries that were never going to book.

Is 20 an hour good for a cleaner?

Another consumer question landing on a business search. What matters for your website is that whatever you charge is on the page: every cleaning company ranking on page one for the customer searches shows a number, and the ones that hide it lose the enquiry to the ones that do not.
